This is a restricted race.

The Jaxuaryans are the feral children of an eternal jaguar god living in the steaming jungles of the southwestern peninsula. Their homes are deep within the jungles amid mysterious ancient ruins. The Jaxuaryans have little contact with the Human world. In fact, most Humans don’t even know they exist. Adventurers who have tried to learn the secrets of the Jaxuaryans say they possess great cunning and stealth, making excellent hunters. It is rumored that they have a strong belief in the balance of nature and the survival of the fittest is their governing law.

These feline warriors are a noble race who believe in the benefits of physical strength. They are hunters by nature and are well suited for combat. Jaxuaryans are primitive and animalistic. Usually very well-muscled and aggressive, they are the perfect warriors in their habitat. Their faces are deeply sculpted like that of a wild panther or jaguar. From the back of each of their powerful hands extends a single retractable claw - their greatest and only weapon. Due to an odd bone locking mechanism, these claws commonly reach lengths of three feet and hold remarkable strength. While Jaxuaryans possess normal hands, they refuse to use them to wield weapons; relying upon steel instead of their natural gifts is anathema to them. Jaxuaryan fur can be of almost any feline pattern type, from yellow with black splotches to jet black. They do not, however, have orange stripes as a tiger would.

Some Jaxuaryan warriors will venture north on holy quests meant to eradicate evil. These individuals speak a rough version of common. They see themselves as superior animals and do not think highly of the combat skills of creatures to the north, thus they are always in the thick of combat, testing themselves against the northland beasts. They do not tolerate necromancy and hold great hatred towards undead, attacking such aberrations on sight.

Jaxuaryans are highly just and do not tolerate acts of evil. They have a strong dislike for chaos and disorder. They only use their own skills, and they firmly believe that the abilities of other races are lacking in overall potency.

Their love of family and friends is a driving force behind these people, who believe there is no greater treasure. Jaxuaryans are consistently honest – legend says that no Jaxuaryan has ever told a lie. They are generally gruff yet friendly to those of other races who display acts of honor and goodness. They are silent beings most of the time, concentrating on possible danger. When they do speak their voices are slow and deep. They enjoy battle as a part of life and view all other “hunters” as a means of entertainment.

Jaxuaryans mature to adulthood in their late teenage years and have a life span of approximately sixty years.

Role-playing

  1. A Jaxuaryan cannot lie or mislead another person; if she doesn’t want someone to know certain information, she will simply refuse to speak about it.
  2. A Jaxuaryan cannot choose to wield weapons or even learn their use; Jaxuaryans believe that their claws are the only proper weapon that they should use. Because of this limitation, skill prerequisites that are specific weapon skills (e.g., Staff) do not apply to Jaxuaryan characters.

Costuming and Makeup

You must wear a full feline face prosthetic, ear tips, and costuming and makeup that creates the illusion of a feline body. You must also have boffer or latex claws. You can choose to wear a prosthetic tail, but the practice of cropping is common among Jaxuaryans, so it is not required. Jaxuaryans sometimes wear armor or clothing, but will only wear practical things.
