General Rules

The Kitchen Deupty (s) and his/her Staff have final say on all things pertaining to the Kitchen. The Kitchen is considered IG, with stipulations listed below.

Unless someone is clearly OOG (White Headband, Medical Emergency, etc.), all activity in the kitchen is considered IG at all times. This includes the Staff, who can and may use overheard conversation IG as they see fit.

Anyone in the Kitchen is there with the permission of the Staff, and must follow their requests. There is to be no combat in the Kitchen. If a conflict arises, all parties involved must leave immediately and resume outside.

All IG business with the Kitchen should be approached from the Inn doorway (the Bar). Any OOG business should be approached from the back doors.

OOG storage may be provided on an as-needed basis by the Kitchen Staff - ask permission before leaving your belongings in their workspace. Kitchen Staff are not responsible for personal items left in the Kitchen, IG or OOG.

Large Items (such as weapons), props, and costuming that pose an obstacle or hazard should be left at the door or in storage. The kitchen is full of (OOG) knives, glass, and hot liquids & surfaces, and safety is a primary concern.

The kitchen may be used for personal food storage and cooking by request and pre-approval from the Kitchen Officer only.  Any and all utensils, cups, glassware, bottles etc. borrowed from the kitchen must be returned before the Feast on Saturday, and again before the Cleanup Hold on Sunday.

If you use the kitchen to prepare a meal, you are 100% responsible for the cleanup happening. Failure to clean up after yourself will result in a rules violation or worse. This applies whether you are using the kitchen for marketfaire prep, or any other meal other than main feast.

The kitchen is considered OOG area if neither the Kitchen Deputy, nor any of the staff, are present. This allows people to get a drink, etc. without needing permission from Kitchen Staff.  Otherwise, it is IG, like the rest of the site.

Role-Playing Rules

A player may not hide their character, items, or anything else in the Kitchen under any circumstances, including the back rooms and freezers. Anyone found hiding themselves or anything else in these areas will receive an immediate rules violation.  Have respect for the Kitchen Staff and others. Although the kitchen is IG, it is not an area suited for dramatic scenes, rituals, death throes, or the like. The kitchen is, by its nature, a place where OOG happens in the course of preparing a meal. If it's important enough to be good RP, please take it elsewhere so that the RP can be witnessed by the whole game, not just the Kitchen Staff.
