The southern desert regions are so desolate and inhospitable that very few races know of the existence of the Kitiera. Those ignorant of the Kitiera may find themselves penniless after a mere night’s time among them, for the Kitiera have a sense for making money – by any means - and staying clear of danger. Unlike their cousins of the jungles, Kitiera have become very modern and adapted closely to Human civilization. They often make their tunnel homes in the desert near large Bedouin towns or cities. Kitiera are naturally nocturnal, sleeping in their cool, dry tunnels by day and coming out at night in search of food, money, and just about anything that they find remotely curious.

The faces of the Kitiera are far flatter in comparison to their cousins, much like common house cats. They wear veils at night and walk among the Bedouins, stealing food and treasures. Instead of crafting things or preparing their own meals, Kitiera deftly procure what they need from others who have already gone to that trouble. They posses lightning-fast reflexes and are extremely dexterous - for if they are not quick enough they will certainly die in their harsh environment. Thieves by nature, Kitiera also dabble in a few select arts in which they have become proficient through the ages. The working of magic is a keen devotion for some of their kind.

Kitiera of the north are a varied sort and operate as loners. Kitiera are true to their instinctual feline curiosity and some go off to seek the riches of the northern lands. Those who wish to appease their insatiable drive for knowledge travel north and blend into societies, thieving and adventuring for the answers they seek.

Kitiera are a highly inquisitive race at heart and cannot stay out of trouble. They love getting into unpredictable situations and seeing the results. They are great talkers, and always try to talk their way out of trouble. When combat does occur, Kitiera are rather gritty and can fight fearlessly, belying their appearance. Hopeless romantics, both male and female, a Kitiera will try for the heart of any attractive Northlander. A Kitiera in love will usually bother her would-be mate at every spare moment until she wins the beloved’s affection, or until her attention is drawn to another curiosity.

Kitiera mature to adulthood in their late teenage years and have a life span of approximately sixty years.
