Written by Knight Realms (kradmin)
This catalog contains a list of all of the Civil Actions that can be attempted in a settlement within the Knight Realms Land System. Each Civil Action is defined in an information block with the following fields:
- Category – Civil Actions are grouped into categories with other Civil Actions that affect the same aspect of the system.
- Classification – there are two types of Civil Actions: Lawful and Criminal. Lawful actions generally cause positive outcomes and are legal activities, while Criminal actions generally cause negative outcomes and are illegal activities.
- Authorization –whether a character must be authorized by the Lord of the estate to perform a Civil Action of this category. Authorizations are only specific to a category of action, not individual actions.
- Limit – the maximum number of times that the Civil Action can be performed per turn.
- Requirements – the skill or skills that a character must possess to perform the action.
- Description – a brief description of the Civil Action’s function. The information in this field is purely illustrative and does not have any bearing on the rules that define it.
- Outcomes – displays the outcome brackets for the action. The outcomes of Civil Actions are decided by d20 rolls. There are four brackets of outcomes possible: 1-3, 4-7, 8-18, and 19-20. A natural roll of 1 is always a failure result and a natural roll of 20 is always the highest success result, even if modifiers would make such a result otherwise impossible.
- Modifiers – the outcome rolls of most Civil Actions can be modified by one or more factors – most commonly complementary skills possessed by the acting character..
