Tortured Soul

Introduction:

Tortured Souls are wild mages who totally despise their heritage to the point that they seek ways to expel the demon blood from their body. The first Tortured Soul was blessed by Andorra in their time of need in order to prove that one who is borne a demon is not necessarily doomed to a dark fate. Since then, the patron deities of light have similarly aided those they deem worthy and believe can be saved. Not all tortured souls fully realize that they are receiving divine aid; however all have an overwhelming desire to do good.

Unlike random wild mage spells, all skills on this list require a teacher.

Renounce Heritage

Skill (Continuous), Augment, Arcane (Wild)

4th rank change envelopes have no effect, all 4th rank change envelopes that have taken form on the wild mage dissipate and they lose all abilities gained through them. This skill also purifies the wild mage of what trace of demon blood they have within them, yet they still retain their innate connection to surge cast magic. The wild mage permanently looses their 10th level promotion due to this skill. In addition they get +10 Body Points and +3 Magic Points their renewed passion and faith to fight the heritage that will always haunt them.

Mastery of the Surge

Skill (Continuous)

This skill allows the wild mage to buy 5 magic points for the cost of 5 build. (Note: This is under review since the Career Point Change, and is left in place as a pre-requisite skill until noted otherwise.)

Elemental Master Prof

Usage: Continuous

Skill (Continuous), Proficiency, Elemental

This skill allows the wild mage to swing +1 Elemental with any weapon they can use. This ability is invokeable and doesn’t have to be used at all times.

Control Spell

Build: 1 per Rank of the spell
Maximum: 1 spell per rank

Usage: Continuous

Skill (Continuous), Augment, Arcane (Wild)

This skill allows the wild mage to lock a spell to them so that they will know it every month. If the locked spell is also chosen via the random selection process they will get another spell.

Elemental Wall

Skill (Periodic), Superior, Area of Effect, Concentration, Arcane (Wild), Elemental

A wild mage may hold up their hand and summon forth a 20 foot long by 10 feet high wall of the elements. When invoked, the wild mage must remain stationary with palm outstretched. Any creature that attempts to cross through the wall of elements takes five points of each element, for a total of 20 Elemental damage.

This skill allows the wild mage to detect if a person has demon blood in them or if they are demonic in anyway. It will either tell them that they are a wild mage, a demon knight or a full fledged demon.

This skill allows the wild mage to swing a spell through his blade.

Perfect Aim

Skill (Periodic), Augment

This allows the wild mage to cast a spell without the aid of a spell packet and to always hit the target. They simply need to point and cast perfect aim (spell name).

Replenish Essence

Skill (Periodic), Augment, Arcane (Wild), Elemental

This ability allows the wild mage to replenish his own, another wild mage’s, or any mage that knows an elemental sphere’s magical powers to the ratio of 2 points per every there levels of the wild mage, rounded down, with a maximum of 20 points.

Sacrifice

Skill (Periodic), Defense, Superior

This skill allows the wild mage to take on the effects of an adverse envelope all on themselves instead of hurting those around him. This can not be used on positive effect envelopes.

Resist Evil

Pre-Req.: revoke heritage, Baptisim to a deity of the Light pantheon
Usage: Periodic

Skill (Periodic), Defense, Superior, Aligned (Good), Divine

This skill allows the character to resist the effects of opposing deities’ prayers and abilities, Necromancy, Anti-Paladin abilities, demonic abilities, as well as any other abilities that stem from a purely dark nature.  This skill may be used while normally unable to call defenses (Unconcious, dead, Time Stop, Celerity, etc.).  If the character uses this against the skill Sever Soul or any kind of ability that would raise them as undead, it gives her a half hour immunity of such attacks from that same source, similar to willpower.

Tortured Soul Teacher

This skill allows you to teach this list. A Master List Teacher can only teach (open for another PC) the actual advanced list itself once every six months. A PC teacher must be approved by the Director & Atmosphere Officer before they can learn this skill.
