Online Announcements August 2.0

Earliest arrival on Friday: 12:00pm

Check In begins: 6pm

Lay on: 10pm

Lay Off: Sunday, 2pm

This is the event before Ren Faire, we are looking for a crew to help with some extra work during clean up that will be compensated extra.  This is the usual run around with the trailer moving benches, tents, etc. You can volunteer during lay off on Sunday!

Parking at Logistics

At this time, the only people authorized to park in the area behind or next to logistics are with direct permission from the Director, or the Officers, Safety Lead, Weekend Event Runner, and Exalted Team. Anyone else cannot leave their cars parked in that area.

Please do not park in front of the door/garage door to the area under the barn, or you will be parked in.

Cards Announcements

The "August Part 2" event will count as taking place in September for all purposes of cards and Patreon.

As always, Card Team will be available in the Bar room from 6p-9p Friday (during check-in) to help new players with their cards. Please be respectful of our team and do not ask them for help before hours have started. If you are a regularly attending player, please try to resolve any card issues before arriving at camp (reach out to us on Discord!) so we can focus on helping new players!

EVERYTHING added to a character card must be signed. This includes bank transfers, rituals, lessons, RwP additions, etc. If someone writes something on your card and does not sign it with their card number and initials, remind them to! All signatures on cards must have the player's initials AND card number.

Write legibly on your cards! If we can't read what's written we can't give you your learned skills! This includes not writing in the chunkiest markers you can find.

Be nice to your cards. Don't spill stuff on them or tear them to shreds. Please be nice to Card Team who have to read them after.

Read your card notes!

Community Announcements

New player Training will be held at 7:30 PM Friday under the tent by the Inn, weather pending potentially inside. First event players are required to attend. Should you miss this scheduled training, please find a community Rep to give you your own training. Saturday around 10:30am are usually best for make-ups. Your character card needs to be signed off to prove you attended. Important safety tools for the game are gone over at this time, as well as expectations for playing. Should you want a more in depth training about certain mechanics like combat, death, crafting, etc., you are welcome to stay longer and ask questions! The mandatory part of training should only be 20-30 minutes. We ask all other players to please stay clear of new player training as multiple people makes for more distractions and will cause training to go longer.

We recommend that newer players take the following NPC shifts as there will be a Community Rep on these shifts to offer assistance if needed: Friday 10pm-2am, Sat 10am-2pm, Sat 2pm-6pm. This is not mandatory of course, but a helpful suggestion!

There will he an intro mod after friday night lay-on meant to serve as a tutorial for first time players. Be in the Inn and someone will grab you for the mod.

Reminder that if you are engaging in CvC to please utilize the "Ok check-in system!" Safety tools are for anyone and everyone. Even if you think the other person is okay, it doesn't hurt to just flash the sign.

We ask that you please remember that all members of Staff are unpaid volunteers to the game. We are all on staff because we wanna help grow the community that we genuinely love. Please treat all members with the same kindness and respect you would wish to receive as well.

Ask questions if you have them!

Reminders from the Atmosphere Team this month!

Please stay in character. If for some reason you need to go out of game, please do so away from other players as to not impact their immersion and gameplay. Please do not interrupt a scene for an OOG comment unless it is absolutely necessary.

Roleplay your combat and sell your blows. It makes combat more fun for everyone. Try to avoid responding to an attack with “I take it”, show them through your roleplay that you’ve suffered the attack.

Please do not openly use your phone. We get that there are times when you may need to check the time or check a rule, but please try to do these checks with your phone under a table or away from other players.

Please be mindful of your trash and OOG food containers. If they are left out, they will be thrown out.

There will be a workshop on “Elevating Others Through Roleplay” at 8:30pm Friday night under the Tent led by Brandon  (Plays Faelen). All attendees will be awarded a free use of the skill “Embolden” for this event.

Restriction on Deviated Sources for Classes

There are currently some classes that allow for deviated sources to be used for them: Spellsword, Ranger, Cleric, Empyrean, Eldritch Archer, Priest, Dragoon.

As of this event, we are putting a pause on player ability to deviate from the original source intended for these classes.  Anyone who currently plays one with a deviated source is grandfathered and can play their class as they have been.

Change to Gathering and Crafting

As of this event, players will no longer require components for the purpose of crafting their crafting talent recipes.  We will no longer be providing components from logistics for these.  For clarification, here is a bulleted list of how this will impact crafting:

Ritual components are still required for performing rituals and may still be gathered as normal.

Runes will still require components to craft, but may still use ritual components

A player may use the components they have in place of the talent slot cost.  Time to craft remains the same.

Components may still be used for all other things that they were normally used for.

Abilities like Extract Essence will still work as intended, so long as the consumable was made with components.

As an additional note, for those who still like to go out to gather components, the satchels of treasure are still out there in the woods!  If you have any questions regarding this change to the crafting and gathering, please talk with James directly about your concerns.

We would like to remind players that you may not use Time Stop to perform a ritual upon another player, however you can use it to perform a ritual upon an item.
