Prologue April 2026

A vault on an island within a lake of fire.  An isle beset by a storm of anti-magic.

A room of absolute darkness in a grand castle.  A tower protected by the magic of light.

Deep below the sea’s surface.  A royal vault in a kingdom of magic.

And last, within the place where it all began. The Quartz Mountain Academy.

Seven tomes of magic to accompany the one already in possession of the heroes.  Seven dangerous missions undertaken to achieve their goal.  Time was no longer in the heroes’ favor, and they had to act.

Dozens of heroes were hard at work preparing to claim the coveted books, planning for every possible outcome, planning for the worst, but planning to win.

There was no grand gesture from a villain staking a claim, no encroaching army at the borders of Travance, and no unknown power working their machinations for the heroes to uncover.  This was an enemy known to everyone.  This was a plan of proactive work by the very heroes who stopped him once before.  This was their time to take the battle to him. To save the father of magic.  To save their ally from a terrible fate of corruption. To put a stop to his evil.

In only a few days, the battle would begin with one final and impossible goal.

Necrophitus Arcane must be destroyed.
